The government provides £150 million additional funds to help improve and sustain PE and Sport provision in primary schools. This money is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport. Each school has received £8,000 plus an extra £5 per pupil each year. The money has been spent on sport and PE provision in schools. Here at Bildeston Primary School we will receive £8,495 for this academic year.
Staff and Governors are very excited about the PE premium for schools. We know the money has been effective because we are one of the few schools who have been awarded a Gold School Sports Award.
We have already planned activities for this year, including additional PE clubs, additional PE sessions during the week, and activities with our partner schools. We have organised small school tournaments for KS2, leading into the pyramid events through the year.
