The School Governors believe that the wearing of a school uniform encourages a sense of belonging to the school community, helps identification on visits and encourages the children to take a pride in their school.

The school uniform consists of:


  • Charcoal grey/black trousers or skirts.
  • White shirts/blouses or polo shirts.
  • Royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan with the Whatfield logo.
  • Blue/white gingham dresses in summer.
  • Charcoal grey/black shorts in summer.
  • Sturdy black school shoes (not trainers).


Children come to school "PE Ready" on their PE days (please see class pages) PE and sports  should comprise of plimsolls or trainers, dark shorts, a white T-shirt and jogging bottoms or a track suit if the weather is cold. Shirts with logos can be purchased from the school office. A one piece swimming costume or swimming shorts (not baggy surf shorts), hat and towel are needed for visits to the swimming pool for both boys and girls. All PE items should be clearly named and kept in a bag. The wearing of any jewellery for PE is not allowed. The PE policy is available from the office.


There are also school sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, PE tops, baseball caps, fleeces, woolly hats and book bags with an embroidered school logo available to purchase from the school office.
